Scott Stotlar - Owner/Hitting and Fielding
Scott Stotlar is the founder and co-owner of Tribe Baseball and Softball Academy, overseeing TBSA's business operations, serving as the Director of Team and Player Development, and working with hitters, infielders, and outfielders at all levels.
Scott has coached multiple Wahoos Softball and Tribe Baseball teams at Tribe Baseball and Softball Academy, beginning in 2017 when the Wahoos Softball program was started. Scott was the Head Coach for the Wahoos '08 team for 7 years, current Head Coach for Wahoos '10 for past 3 years, and current Head Coach for Tribe 11U for past 3 years. Scott has led these teams to multiple State Championships and Top 5 finishes at Nationals.
Scott is passionate about working with high-level infielders to develop skills that will allow them to grow into elite defenders, as well as working with teams and preparing his players to compete at a high level above their age group. Scott also works with TBSA's hitters in baseball and softball, and works with each coach to develop hitting plans for teams and individual hitters.
Scott is a Springfield native and graduated from Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in 1999 where he was a team captain, CS8 Conference Honorable Mention shortstop, and State Journal Register All-Area selection. Scott also competed in football and basketball at SHG, where he was starting Quarterback his Senior year at SHG, and shooting guard on the basketball team as a Team Captain, and earning All-Conference Honorable Mention as a Senior, and SJ-R All City Team, leading the basketball team to the most wins in a single season in 25 years at SHG. Scott would continue his playing career at Springfield College in Illinois (SCI) as Team Captain and started every game at Shortstop in his Freshman and Sophomore years. Scott then continued on to Division I University of North Carolina-Asheville as a Team Captain and starting Shortstop for the remainder of his career, where he played a vital role in leading UNCA to their most wins in school history. Scott currently resides in Springfield, IL with his wife Kelly, two daughters Kendall and Kolbie, and one son Caden
Tina Buck-Harth - Softball Pitching Coach
Tina Buck-Harth brings a wealth of experience and passion to the realm of softball coaching. Hailing from St. Louis, Tina's journey in softball began as a standout four-year varsity pitcher for Cor Jesu Academy High School, where she etched her name in the record books with a single-season strikeout record and earned All Conference/All-Region honors.
Her collegiate career at the University of Illinois Springfield further solidified her prowess as a formidable force on the diamond. As a four year starter, Tina showcased her versatility as both a pitcher and outfielder, playing an instrumental role in propelling her team to the NCAA National Tournament in 2012. Her exceptional contributions to the sport were duly recognized when she was inducted into the UIS Hall of Fame in 2023.
In 2015, Tina embarked on a new chapter in her softball journey by founding the Buck Fastpitch Academy. Over the years, she honed her coaching skills and mentored hundreds of aspiring softball players across the Midwest, instilling in them not just the fundamentals of the game, but also the values of dedications, perseverance, and sportsmanship. In 2020, Tina's commitment to nurturing the next generation of softball talent led her to join Tribe Baseball and Softball Academy. Armed with the wealth of coaching experience and a relentless passion for player development, Tina continues to impart her expertise to young pitchers, equipping them with the technical skills and strategic acumen needed to excel at the highest levels of competition.
At the heart of Tina's coaching philosophy lies a deep-rooted belief in the holistic development of her athletes. While she remains dedicated to refining their pitching mechanics and enhancing their performance on the field, she places equal emphasis on fostering their mental resilience and character growth. Through her mentorship, Tina endeavors to empower her players not only to succeed in softball but also to thrive as individuals of integrity and purpose, embodying the timeless values that transcend the boundaries of the game.
Sara Gray-Belcon - Softball Hitting Coach
Sara Gray-Belcon works with softball hitters and slappers, as well as fielding instruction.
Sara is a graduate of University of Illinois-Springfield where she was a standout infielder. She was inducted into the UIS Hall of Fame in 2022
Reagan Miles - Pitching Instructor
Reagan Miles has been a pitching instructor for 2.5 years with Tribe Baseball and Softball Academy, specializing in internal rotation pitching mechanics. She has recently been added to the coaching staff for Rochester junior high and High School.
Reagan pitched for UIS for the past 4 years, and graduated in 2023 from the University of Illinois Springfield, with a bachelors degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Reagan was named captain and accumulated multiple awards during her career, including UIS Female Athlete of the Year, UIS Softball Team MVP, 2x GLVC Pitcher of the Week, 2nd Team All-Conference, and Academic All-Conference all 4 years.
Prior to UIS, Reagan played at Rochester High School on Varsity for 4 years, and a regular starter her last 3 years. During her time at Rochester, she was part of the 2017 IHSA State appearance which won 3rd Place, multiple regional and sectional wins and now holds the record for most career wins (54), most strikeouts in a game (20), and season ERA (0.69). She was awarded the Central State Eight Conference Pitcher of the Year award in 2018 and 2019, as well as the Capital City Preps Large School Softball Player of the Year award and was a 2x All-Metro selection.
Mia Volpert - Pitching and Hitting Coach
Mia Volpert is a new instructor at TBSA, and is passionate about working with younger hitters and pitchers. Mia is a recent DI Commit to SIU-Edwardsville and is looking to pass on her knowledge and skills to the younger softball hitters and pitchers in the area. She is currently on the TBSA Wahoos 16U '07 Softball Team.
Mia earned All-State and All-Conference honors the past two years as a Freshman and Sophomore at Springfield High School. Mia is also on the Girls Basketball Team at Springfield High School.

David Johnson - Baseball Pitching Coach
David Johnson is a pitching coach at TBSA, working with our pitchers with a focus on proper fundamentals and movements.
Dave was a standout High School pitcher from California earning All-State honors, and continued his collegiate career at UCLA.
Nik Jackson - Baseball Hitting and Fielding
Nik is passionate about coaching hitters and pitchers.
Nik is a national award winning sports broadcaster with a Bachelor's Degree in Radio-Television and New Media. He was the voice of the Springfield Sliders for 6 years and for the inaguaral season of the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes.
Nik was a four-year varsity starter at Lanphier High School and earned All-Conference Honors twice. He also played for a national travel team, the Midwest Cagerats out of Indianapolis, IN. Baseball is his passion and he has trainied several former Major League players.
Nik played college golf at Lincoln College and is currently an assistant golf professional at Panther Creek Country Club. He is passionate about teaching both golf and baseball. He is available for hitting and fielding lessons.
Dylan Dickerson - Catching and Hitting Coach
Dylan specializes in Catching and also working with younger hitters.
